squealin' when the AC is on?

My car has done this since I bought it (back in May), but I haven't used the AC all that much so it really hasn't been an issue until the last couple of weeks in MA.

The car runs fine, until I put on the AC and it squeals quite a bit (sounds like its coming from the belt area) for maybe 5-10 seconds and goes away as the rpm rises.

Anybody know what's up?

Actually, I'd have to say that your AC compressor is going bad.....that is the clutch locking up on it and the pully doesnt spin when the clutch is locked up, hence the belt squeals

Wink squeal

Don't spray Armourall on the belt. If you are going to spray something get belt dressing spray, but first just tighten to spec that's all it is. If the belt is badly worn, replace it. I can almost guarantee that your compressor clutch is fine. IMHO.
