Whose car is this? A-Spec, where did you get this picture?

I'm looking for someone who modified the RE kit to accept the 90mm Hella lights and has pictures of the lighting bracket(s) that show what they did to modify them to fit and be adjustable.

Thanks

It's probably a picture from the Tokyo Auto Salon. It looks like a car show, and it looks like it has an RE widebody (I don't know anyone in the states that has that kit)..and I don't THINK I can see a master cylinder back in there...

jim,

It is an RE Amemiya car from the Tokyo Auto Salon. There are some pictures of it at:

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/tokyoautosalon.html

They are on a widebody car, so I don't know if the headlights have been "widened" as well to allow for those larger outer lights. I would like to find out more about seems to be a new RE Amemiya kit, though.

Anyone have some more info on this?

Mark

I've already sold the East Bear kit, and the Hella lights, and I'm going to get a pod kit (hopefully minus CATZ lights) from C-West to start with. I also bought a Supra headlight and have "dissected" it to see how it ticks. I will probably find an existing projector light which has a readily available Philips HID kit for those who want to convert, and start with that.

I'm still very interested in the projectors used in the Murcielago, but haven't looked into buying a headlight for experimental purposes...

To me it looks like all they did was mount some lights (in the C-west fashion, behind a cover), and then add some fancy aluminum/plastic piece over it (screwed into the cover and not part of the lights at all) for a little decoration. I could be wrong, but thats what it appears to be.

Jimlab, the pics are from autosalon...the lights are not for sale yet. They didn't have a date of release when I saw them.

As for retrofitting....the lights most dissected seems to be the euro S4 headlights, they are HID and have a really nice pattern.

would anyone have a picture of the cwest sleek light kit's beam pattern from the cockpit? it looks nifty from the outside but everyone says the light output is bad so i'd like to see what a dark road looks like with it on. thanks in advance.

Possibly, but they're Xenon lights, not cheap CATZ fog lights.

Jim,

Keep us posted on the C-West experiment (obviously you will ). *Now* you've piqued my interest. The cosmetics of the East Bear kit just don't appeal to me, and I don't fancy breaking out the surgical tools to install an RE kit.

My hope is with you my man.

Seriously though, I'm very interested to see what you can come up with.

Jim,
Did you receive your East Bears and find that the Hella's did not retrofit? Just curious...TIA.

No, just don't like the pods and didn't see a way to easily convert them to what I wanted after seeing pictures of the kit installed.

Jim did you ever get your C-West lights on and painted?
Any pictures of how they look?
Are you still looking into gettins some custom ones made?

Something to keep in mind with the C-West kit, is you can't upgrade or replace the bulbs.

I sold the C-West kit, and I'm still working on getting my own design made. Apparently the prototype pod is ready to pick up from the 'glass guy, but I haven't seen it yet, and haven't decided what to use for lighting yet, either.

It requires you to cut out the same amount of metal as the RE Amemiya kit which it was based on, unfortunately. On the plus side, the lighting is apparently much better than anything else currently available.
