Thanks tnn, it's been a work in progress for some time.
moosejaw- I haven't decided if I'm going to lower the intercooler or add a duct to direct fresh air from under the cooler to the radiator. The passenger opening is going to be a cold air duct for the intake but I will be getting a bigger single oil cooler and undertray

...od, car looks outstanding...
@wo:...to each his own i would say... :-\
@koguchi: ...looks great, but i think the roof spoiler is a piece of personal taste... I would go with a 99spec wing or similar...

Wow... one of my new favorites. Love the fender mirrors. Especially love this shot against the stormy background. Nicely done! Are the mirrors Amemiya?? One of these years I really need to head down to PR for "Pistons Vs. Rotaries."

Looks like everyone's rockin the RPO-3's these days.
What hood is on the yellow car?
What hood is on the yellow car?
I know it is hard to understand why...until you hear the reasons.
there are a few:
1. I´m building my own Vented Hood at the moment.
Due to the fact that Aluminium and Fibrglass have different expansion under heat and it will tend to crack and look nasty the goldwrap should hold some of the heat back from the hood.
The heat should only exit the engine bay at the end of the hood and should not heat it up over the complete surface.
2. When I have finished my Hood, I want to channel the air through the Intercooler to the vents.
Only the air through the Intercooler should pass through the vents. So I will make some sort of air duct under the hood and the wrap will be a part of it. Simply to seperate the air from the intercooler from the rest of the engine bay.
3. I have alot of modifications and the cops here in germany don´t like it. (even when everything is legalized through alot of tests)
So the wrap should also screen the parts from view. f.e.
- BOV
- Water Meth - Controller
- HKS Twinpower
- All the needed new routed cables and hoses
etc.
4. I thought it would look great too (hides all the hose, cable - chaos)
5. I got the wrap for free :-D
I know for 4th Point I maybe have to cut some of the wrap off... It is maybe too much.
I´ll post pictures when I have fnished it.
regards Marc
PS: to stay ontopic.
a pic of my FD...
here my latest build:
Double Diffuser - Vortex Generator - Foglight .
due to the fact that we have to have a foglight here in germany I thought it would be the best solution to built a aerodynamic functional part :-)
sorry for the crappy cellfone pic.
if there is some interest I can make a better picture of the part
early design phase: :-)
