to answer your question Ceylon i had low compression in the middle rotor due to a bad injector.

Damn, so many sexy FD's! I bought mine quite a while ago, but I have never driven it yet. Engine needs rebuilding. Planning on a full rebuild, bridge porting, t3/t4 single turbo. Apexi Power FC, D2 Drift suspension kit etc etc..
some pics (engine removal and my E30):

was just down in FL with my car for the past week.
didn't have much time to work on it but i was able to spend one afternoon doing the brakes & lines.
removed / cleaned / painted all the calipers, installed a set of Sakebomb Garage Stainless/Brained brake lines, and also Endless SS-S pads all the way around.
so far, loving this setup. the brakes are super responsive, near silent, and have excellent stopping power. now i just need some better tires...
unfortunately i forgot to bring my good camera to the shop, so i only have camera phone pics of the install...
here's the BEFORE pic (they were painted silver w/ red mazda logos):

the new stuff:

calipers removed/cleaned/painted:

front brakes installed:

rear brakes installed:

only shot i have of the brakes with the wheels back on...

i'll have to take more pics the next time i'm down there with my car...

I realy like the new paint work on the calipers Tom! better than the red with grey IMO
. How do you get to paint it and still have the MAZDA letters nice and shiny without paint on them??

i painted them with the black spray-on caliper paint. i had the calipers completely removed and clean so it was really easy to paint them. only took about 1 can to do all four calipers, and i was able to get like 4 coats on each caliper.
after i painted it, i used a rotary air-tool to sand off the paint on the mazda logo. i over-sanded a little bit and scuffed the paint, so i taped over the letters and gave them one final spray.
looks really good in person. wish i had taken better pics.
I dunno if I would call that the ugliest RX7 ive ever seen. Its just stock with a shopping trolley handle....Ive seen some totaly distroyed RX7s over here in NZ. Read clear tail lights, neons, chrome 20s and two tone paint....YUCK. =P
