if you look at the bottom center of this picture, you'll see a box leading to the intercooler (the thing above it that has 2 pipes going to it)

basically, theres a vent that channels air from the front bumber to the intercooler. however when you remove the airbox you also remove the cover of the intercooler vent. thus leaving that small square hole which will leak air needed to cool things down.

that being said, everyone else rest assured that i will have that hole filled soon.

Hi, I have just registered here so I guess a good way to start is to show some pics of my FD.
I have imported it from Japan and installed a PFC, AVCR and a RSM from Apex
I temporarilly used the original mountings that the previous owner had semingly no problem with just screwing everything in the dash.
I have had the dash repaired, took out the radio and relocated most of the meters, but these are still pictures of the old setup.

I am going to repaint the whole body, but before that I want to try finding a rear bumper to match with the side skirts.
Does anyone know what make or style these sides are?

This is how I came back from the drag strip :P

It was fun tho, I enjoyed every minute of my day. And I got to kick some butt on the drag strip, even if my tires were too stiff for that application. Slipping 1st and 2n gear like crazy. I cant wait to rebuild the engine and bring it to the drag strip with good tires.

the vent also allows air to channel to the right to cool the aircon condensor and battery!!!... i got a piece of plastic and covered that hole.. ive found it strange but the US cars only seem to have the vent hole on the top left of the duct.. my Jap model 95 has a hole on the left and right(covered with thin foam).

Before anyone goes nuts and says "Why is this jackass taking pics of his FD with an F-150" let me explain. My FD is not my daily driver, my truck is. And I've always thought that when I drive my truck it feels like I'm sitting on the roof of my RX7. So today, I decided to see if it's true. Well it's not, but as you can see, there is a big difference in seating elevation.
