Handful of pics from today's car show here in Panama City Beach, Florida "Spring Fling 2007" (<-----how cheesy can our local car show names get? LoL). I got the '99 lip from FedEX late yesterday afternoon but was too tired to install...otherwise, would've been a nice for the photos. Oh yah, no time to wax...only washed.

BTW, does anyone know where to get "closer match" touch up paint...because apparently, the OEM Mazda paint kit for CYM (J9) is like more Sunburst Yellow (...for the yellow FDs in Japan)?

(^ Intakes/filters will be gone soon...fins all bent out of shape from previous owner)

(^ ...reflection from sun w/ nasty glare)

Yah, tried to really scrub the UIM and TB down but the progress rate of scrubbing and my arm falling off was likely, haha. It's not as dark as the photo seems and nicer in person with what I did scrub off. I will down road get polished parts....which seems to be the FD trend...which is nice.

But for now, maybe I can try searching for the steel wool thing you mentioned above.

^ Holy smokes...thanks for that awesome link! Too bad I didn't know about this before the car event. I'm happy with results of my 2 days of back-pain it took for me to try and clean the engine bay as best as I could but the UIM/TB really pissed me off. Haha. But I will still do the technique you expressed above.

Haha...thanks man. I just literally slept in the garage past 2-3 nights trying to freakin' clean the engine bay with simple soft cloth/terry cloths, water spray bottle, medium-hard bristle brush, and Mothers Mag/Aluminum (<----AWESOME). I had to remove a lot of parts that were in the way of reaching the deepest grime/dust. I went ahead and spent couple hours polishing the IC piping since it was already off temporarily which really help give the "new" look.

Just one thing about it though I didn't include. Don't use it on the alternator if the outside casing is attached. Or else you will get small steel particles in it. Keep your air compressor gun beside you to spray off all the steel shavings to keep it clean. My UIM still looks the same as it did when I originally did this.

Ooooops I'm hijacking the thread. No more. Sorry

recent photos of mine

the mini and the RX are my daily drivers. the mercedes i get to drive whenever its amg but i like stick shift preferably

dents are from when my dad owned it. he drove it to work everyday and parked in the same spot everytime and those came. F***ers and it is to exspensive for me to get fixed cause its double walled car only has 34k miles on it and look at it. damn vegas *for the paint fade* and damn people who slam there doors into peoples cars and not saying anything about doing it.
