After being detailed. The stock paint is holding up pretty well.

My new project car.

Since I have not figured out how to insert an image directly these attached pictures probably going to show as thumbnails.

Got this car a bit over a month ago. My second FD. Blew engine on the very first day.

Now, I have just completed the install of a rebuilt Mazda dealer-sold engine, a DP, straight 3" CB, a boost gauge, put in the CW headlights, the 99 front end, 99 spec wing, painted them, put on springs, sway bars, Apexi PFC, steering wheel and my old racing wheels from my first FD that I had crashed at Sears Point raceway. I did all the work, making it a challenge.

Car came with M2 ECU, IC and intake. I blew the engine on the first acceleration after I had the stock muffler replaced by a straight pipe. Stock pre-cat and main cat were still installed. Probably coincidence but, did not have a boost gauge at the time to tell what was happening.

Here is a pic of my ride, I got it about 2 months ago and I have loved every minute (well except when my AST cracked and when the vacuum line pops off the map sensor ).

You asked:
"hey axr6 what kind of suspenion do you have, looks lowered?"

I've installed the Tein SS springs. Got them on E-bay for around $125 including fronts and rears. I think they are around 436 lbs/inch front and around 320 in the rear. Lower the car nearly 1.5" The car does not bottom with these springs.

When I road raced, (as I did my first FD) I used the Racing Beat springs. They lowered the front only about half of what the Tein does but, were much closer to the factory spring rates. With that you get better complience and couple them with a stiff sway bar set up and stiffer shock valving you go faster than with the stiffer springs. I have no intention to race this car so, I chose the spring rates mostly for the lower look.

I kept the front stock sway bar but, intalled poly bushing instead of the rubber. Also reenforced the front sway bar towers. For now I just put on a cheap Addco 22 mm rear bar to tune out the big understeer in the stock car.

Shocks are still stock but, I'll probably put in the Tokico 5 way adjustables. I raced on those before on both the FD and a first gen RX-7 and used them for street as well and they were a good cost effective choice.

Wheels are my old race wheels, 9.5 X 17 Forgelines. Weight only 17 lbs each. Too bad for those darn heavy Kuhmo tires on it. Tires are 255-40-17.
