painting side window beltline molding

has anyone tried to paint the side window beltline molding, the strip that runs from the side view mirror to just under the door handle? What type paint ? Gloss or flat black? Any responsed appreciated.

I've never tried it, but it appears to have the same type of paint as the car...perhaps you can try sanding it down and smoothing it out. Apply several layers of gloss black, with a few layers of clear coat enamel for shine and smoothness.

I've never tried it, so it's just an idea...

The best route with the least amount of headache would be to take the pieces to a body shop. For such a small piece, it should not cost too much, especially if you sand it down prior to bringing it to them.
