Need j-spec engine
Hey
I think ill be needing a new engine in my 93 but a professonal is out of my budget. The only shop in my area tri point engineering quoted me $3800 for a basic rebuild, providing the housing were still in good shape.I think thats a outrageous sum of money for a basic rebuild.Anyway im considering other options and i am interested in getting a jspec engine or possibly a mazda remanufactured engine.if any one has any input of how to get these motors it would be greatly apreciated especially jspec engines.
Thanks

I have a source that has a 2000 J-spec motor and tranny for sale. If you want i can get a price on it but remember gettin a J-spec motor is a crap shoot. You never really know the condition of the motor. They are not blown but you never know how they were driven.
I have a 96 motor and tranny in my car....I installed it and my clutch was chattering like crazy. Took it apart and found out there was a Mazdaspeed 3 puck clutch in there. Cool! Clutch! BAD~! Motor was probibly run hard.
So you never really know....but this motor has been doing well for me. Plus i got a nice ne(used less) tranny!
