Smile Its official-i have a Type R

It turns out my Japanese spec 92 Gen3 is called a Type-R.It has Bilstein suspension, twin oilcoolers, suede seate, deep lip front spoiler and rear wing. They also come with rear seats and rear wash/wipe.The jap ones dont come with airbag either. Here in England we dont need a cat to pass our annual emissions test.Anyone have a cheap/easy way to eliminate the cat?will it improve overall performance?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks guys,Rotarybrit

If you do not need the cat, you should not need the pre-cat.
Replace both with a DP(down pipe) and a MP(mid pipe). But then you will need a reprogrammed ECU or Apexi PFC to add more fuel. You could only replace the pre-cat with the DP and leave the cat in. This would not necessitate the need for the upgraded ECU.

I have a jap import and they do not have a pre-cat. But an afterarket downpipe does have a bigger bore. Remember you cannot fit an American downpipe as it does not make an allowance for the steering rack.
