How to take off exhaust hangers

I was about to replace my exhaust tommorow with a Apexi GT Spec exhaust, and I was wondering what is the best way to take these hangers off and remove the stock exhaust!

Thanks,

Ravi

take some WD40 or lithium grease to lube up the holes then just slip them in or out.

just use WD40 to lube them up. Dont forget to lube up the bolts on the cat as well. I snapped one of my bolts when installing my GT exhaust this weekend. Pretty easy install...taking off the stock exhaust should be a snap...when putting on the GT exhaust, i found that its easier to start by slipping on the hangar in the middle on the exhaust, and then work your way out and slip on the two hangars at the end of the exhaust

or you could have said:

take some WD40 or lithium grease to lube up the holes then just slip them in or out.

Not to break the rhythm here, but spray silicone actually works even better.

And never underestimate the aid of a screwdriver. Stick it in the hole with the hanger and wedge.

Just lube it up, stick it in, and pull it out? Geez, no foreplay? Yup... but I prefer a prybar instead of a screwdriver Mr. DK....

With those stretched out exhaust holes you fiddle with, I would be surprised if even the crow bar was big enough to fill the hole.

Nah, I like my exhaust holes to be tightly wound w/ no restrictions. Occasionally you get a loose system, but you really just have to work on those types of systems really hard, and really fast. (This thread is getting bad, quick.)

I really don't like working on dirty exhausts. You wriggle around the hole and by the time you get it out you're covered in all of this ****. I like to work on exhausts that will pass the "sniff test." Sometimes it works out the hole better if you use a swirling motion and lots of the lube. No really, this is exhaust hanger advice.
