Hood latch mod

Okay this mod should be added to the "first things to do to my car". This modification is easy and I advise everyone to do it before its too late. Did mine this past weekend.

This mod just adds a safety/back-up wire to the hood latch in case the hood release in the car fails. If it fails, I think it requires mangling the hood to get it opened.

1. remove the two bolts that hold the latch to the frame
2. remove the nut ,facing the front of the car, that attaches the hood latch to the bracket
3. remove the bolt that holds the bracket down just to the passenger side of the latch
4. loosen the bolt at the very bottom of the bracket so you can pivot the bracket enough to remove the hood latch
5. look at the mechanism to see how it works. when you pull the hod release, the cable pulls a ball into a spring loaded arm which will then trigger the release mechinism
6. I then used bailing wire to wrap around the "spring loaded arm" and ran the other end of the wire where I could get to it in case the hood does not open
7. reassemble
8. Test - make sure you have everything back together before shutting the hood for test in case it does not work you want to make sure the hood release inside the car will work stil

The only thing I can not figure out is the electrical connector at the bottom of the hood latch mechanism. It is a sensor of some sort but not sure where it runs.
