gotta couple of questions.
first off let me say that this a very nicely set up board. ok, i'm getting pretty tired of my honda, and the whole rice thing that comes with it. i'm ready to graduate to a more serious car, the 7. i have been researching constantly for the last week on the rotary and models, etc. my question to you , and what it really comes down to with me is, if I get a '94 with say around 70k original, and i only drive 12-14k miles a year, is it gonna last me a good four years with out any MAJOR problems which are going to require gobs of money to fix? any imput at all about purchasing one is welcome too. thanks to all! me thinks you might want to call Miss Cleo on that one mon! :p
you buy any used car you roll the dice on whether you're going to experience a major problem PERIOD.
as for purchasing one, take your time and find a clean one in perfect shape to reduce your chances of spending a fortune down the road but its a mechanical machine - expect failure.

if i read your location right you're in alabama which means you don't worry about snow much so that helps your situation. find a clean one. get a compression test.
then replace/delete the ast, install a downpipe, do the fan mod, install a boost gauge, make sure all fluids are good to go, change the oil religously and preferably before 3k miles. and only the best gas you can find. if you really want to ensure safety then upgrade the radiator too. if you can swing all that then go for it.
viper jr. is right though. a used car is a used car, be careful. and run a carfax on it too. good luck! its awesome driving one everyday as long as there's no snow.

i gotcha on everything else but the ast, what is that? and also i've been readin everywhere that the power fc is the first thing to get, or something with the control of the fc. and plus i'm not going to the first one i see and buy it, it'll probably be around christmas or even longer until i find one that i'm happy with and get it. or maybe sooner, i just gotta find one. basically i just want a good project car while in college, and then hell, i'll probably just get the new 8. thanks for the answers peeps.
