Hey guys... I have the exhaust all off now... Just getting a
engine rebuild... I have noticed the gaskets might have been seeping a little exhaust fumes...
Question: Would soaking them in water overnight... swell them
up a little... ? and a good cleaning...? Would it make the gasket useable again?
2nd question: I have a fairly new O2 sensor in place maybe 22 months old... Could I use some Carburator cleaner on it... What can I use to clean it up a little for better readings?

i used silicone gasket maker to help seal up the exhaust leak i had

it worked, no more leak

i know they are compressed gaskets, but i just don't want to replace them :tounge:

i don't know what you should do to clean your o2 sensor though

Your O2 Sensor should be fine. They usually last between 30k and 50k miles. They usually go bad early only if they are subjected to lots of bad gas (no name - low octane, or leaded gas). Don't spray anything on them as that will inhibit the way they work and make the sensor read leaner than it should (aka making your car run overly rich). I believe that most manufacturers recommend cleaning sensors with very high heat.
