Red face Clutch Slippage

I got humiliated tonight...I was cruising around, playing with my new exhaust when i come to a light with a fixed up newer model 5.0... the lady was down to race and so was i. I revved up to 3k, and let it go....my RPMS go up to 7k but i dont feel like im going anywhere, shift to second, they drop to 6, but quickly hit 7.5, so i shift again...same thing happens...im still neck and neck with the 5.0, but god damn, im hardly even going 60 mph...i hit 7.5 again and switch to 4th...same thing happens and then i shut down. The Mustang flies by...argh. I catch up and the lady is going off about how her husband built the car..she was nice, but she shouldnt have been allowed the gratification of winning...i know i could have taken her.

At first I thought I spun out through all 4 gears...but i started to smell something awful. Smells like metallic rotten eggs. Bleh. Burnt clutch.

Currently my mods are only an untuned newer PFC set to rich, modified stock airbox, and A'pexi GT exhaust. Either my clutch has been through too much, or it cant handle the extra HP...it wont let me gun it through first....if i take it easy and shift normally and then wind out the other gears, its fine. How labor intensive is it to install a new clutch? The car's got 72.5k on the odo, and as far as I know, its running on the original clutch
