Boost Problems, Double throttle actuator!
Hey I have been having 2nd turbo problems ever since I got my car, and I was reading the troubleshooting on ISTAR site and it said that while the engine is at operating temp, no vacuum should be present while unplugging the vacuum line at the actuator, and on my car, there is still vacuum present, so what could be wrong and will this be affecting my 2nd turbo's boost?
Thanks,
Ravi
Thanks,
Ravi
If you unplug the vac line going to the double throttle actuator at normal temp nothing should happen. If you unplug it when the engine is still cold or warming up you should see vacuum and you should hear the double throttle doors open and close as you disconnect and reconect the vac hose.
You can run the engine with the line disconnected, just be easy on the throttle until the water temp is normal as you will be running the doors open all the time. If your always seeing vacuum you should plug the hose with something to prevent a vacumm leak.
i've noticed that the engine doesnt need too long to cool before it will close the double throttle doors again. But they re-open pretty quick.
If the doors are sticking, it would definetly affect boost levels
hope this helps
