abou to install midpipe and remove airpump

I am about ot install a midpipe, I abviously won;t be needing my airpuimp, I am not concerbed with actually removing it becasue I have to return the car to stock in 6 months. I do not want to blow the airpump by lettign it suck hot engine air and run. Can I just disconnect the harness to it, or do I need to do something else to stop it from sucking in air and operating.

Thanks

I know some people run a hose with a small filter to the front of the car,but if you can I say remove it,just unpluging it will cause you to burn up the bearings.
