zinc plated rotors

does the gold color wear off the zinc plated rotors???

Yes, on the face of the rotor where the pad meets the rotor.

yeah.......obviously

but the reason you get them zinced or powder coated is so the outer edges and the center do not rust down the road....I had my KVR rotors done in black and the contact surfaces (obviously) are nice and shiny when the car's in use....but the center and outer edges are still black and clean as oppose to rusty.

As said, yes it does.

I just use regular rotors and high temp paint them. Lasts a good 30K miles if properly applied and costs 2 bucks worth of paint to do.
