Smile Yet more Exhaust Q's

I was just curious, I hear some people talking that some back pressure for a NA is good. So what would be the best combo or parts? Header/stock piping, catbacks, get rid of the cat? What works the best for a NA car...?

backpressure is only good if you need it to open the 5/6th ports if you have a s4. do the airpump mod on ur s4 and u can have no backpressure. s5 backpressure doesnt matter cuz the 5/6th ports are already opened off the airpump

Hmmm, I've been searching and I've found many opinions on the Air Pump and Throttle Body mod and some others...but cannot locate the actual "how-to" thread. Can anyone help me?

AAHHHHH!!!!

back pressure makes torque, high flow makes HP (for N/A cars anyway). try to find a good combo. maybe RB header -> presilencer -> 2 inch dual, or 2.5 single(?) catback.

oh, with the S4 and the ports, you can wire them open or do some sort of electrical actuation crap.

I've never heard of an "airpump mod"

I was thinking of getting a catalytic converter replacement pipe with presilencer and Racing Beat cat back exhaust sytem with the stock exhaust manifold...How does that sound?

Ohh and if you wire the ports open, so that they are open 100% of the time? Do you lose anything from doing that?

So this is how to keep the 5th and 6th ports open at all times? By using your air pump?

They won't be open at all times, when you do the airpump mod it will allow the Aux. ports to operate just like they normally would. The airpump is what the S5's use.

There is also another way to open them, and it costs about 100 bucks after you buy every thing. And it takes a 3 way air valve, an air horn pump, and an RPM switch. I will post the link to the site that tells you how to do it once I get home.

With just catalytic converter replacement pipe with presilencer and Racing Beat cat back exhaust sytem with the stock exhaust manifold would my 5th and 6th ports still function properly?

If you are talking about the RB pre-silencer it will work. That thing has a little fitting you hook up to the slipt air pipe that is usually hooked up to the catalitic converter. It will provide the backpressure for the ports.
