Yet another TPS question

Yes or no: If you get a check engine light for the TPS, does it mean that it is definitely bad, or maybe just out of tune?

It could be both.. test it out by getting a DMM and see if can go from ~1v too 4V smoothly.. if it does.. then it just not tuned.. if you see a constant 4v.. or a rough transistion.. it is bad.

4 v? 4 volts? I have an S5......where would I use my multi meter at to see that voltage?

Remove TPS plug and check the black and green wires-narrow range TPS (Front plunger). Adjust to 1k ohms. After, you can double check with the green test terminal, just to be sure.

1k as in 1000 ohms? According to my multi meter, when I did that one, it wouldn't go past 50 ohms at best.
