Yet another starting issue.. ignition maybe

OK here is the problem guys.... The car cranks just fine although sometimes faster then others, but most of the time it takes multiple times to start and you usually have to play with the throttle too. It only takes a small push to start it however. I was told that its possible that my starter is taking power away from my ignition. Is there anyway I can check this? Also I was told that some cars double the power to the ignition when the starter is on is this true for the rx-7? If so what is it called and how can one check it.

The car is a 10th AE
rebuilt engine
new starter
new battery
new plugs & wires
and runs fine after its started

Edit: I'm a moron, didn't read your whole post. Have you done a compression test at all?

Nope. How would this effect it? If it had low compression wouldn't it also run weak. I mean i would understand more if it took a long time to start by pushing it. But I bearly have to push it to get it to start. You don't think its at all possible that my ignition is getting shafted on power?

Ok here is the update..

The car will start just fine if I parallel my SUV's battery to the rx7's battery. So I assume that this is further evidence that when the car is starting something is taking away more then its fair share of amps or that there is a lack of it. The battery is new I might add.

Also this is a new Autolight starter its not a Mazda. Do you think this could have anything do do with it?

Thanks,
Zach

Also if anyone knows what I should check to narrow it down a little that would be great.
