yet another problem

in 3rd gear when the tach hits about 3k, it revs up to 5 really fast (still pushing the gas the same) and I do not speed up. Then it seems like the clutch catches after and then I go somewhere. Should replacing my clutch solve my problem? This clutch supposedly only has 5k miles on it btw..
Thanks alot,
Brett

What do you mean supposedly? Did you buy it from someone? Check where they got it or who installed it.

on the freeway cruising at like 60-70, push in the clutch, rev engine up high, let clutch out. revs should drop right back to normal fairly quick. if not, you got a slippin' problem.
