What exactly happened when the wire melted? They don't usually melt themselves.

well

I was taking off from a dead stop redlined first gear hit seconed then it boged and wouldnt pull, so I pulled over thinking my injector clip came off again(need to saftey wire em)lifted the hood and saw smoke.Glanced at the fuse box and the wire casing was melting sooo i shut the car off and unhooked the battery. Then was like wtf so hooked the battery up and it melted the rest of the way.

Whats weird is that it didnt blow the 30 amp fuse but it only melted the white/blue stripe wire and the other solid blue is fine???
