Unhappy yay for problems!!!

ok im about 3k into a rebuild... i dont know if im being paranoid or not (probably am) but theres smoke. its also been steadily under 20 degrees outside for a long time now, but the rx7 smokes until i drive it a bit, then it calms down. im chalking this up to hot rotary exhaust & gutted cats...

until today when i was stuck coming into the driveway from work. it snowed pretty bad, and i got stuck about half way in. the car was warmed up, and i havent taken it over 3k rpms for a month or so (clutch is gone) and i only drive about .5 miles to work, and .5 back a day. so anyway im stuck in the driveway, and i give it a little gas, and it smokes more. i think im running rich (street port) because it is not coolant smoke, my coolant doesnt bubble and is neon green, how it should be. my oil doesnt disapear, and its a nice color (i change it religiously)

could this be the fact that its 6 degrees out and i dont have cats? could my clutch being GONE be a factor? (hitting the gas in gear makes the rpms go up fine, but no speed )

also, my idle is great, no problems starting, etc... engine purrs like a kitten

sorry about my bad writing, i failed composition2 2 years in a row

thanks
tj

smoke is the same color as everyone elses on the road, and smells like normal exhaust

You are describing steam. Not smoke.

When you say there's smoke coming out of your exhaust, people are going to tend to assume that you mean actual smoke, like the blue smoke we get when our side seals start to go.

Lots of steam out of the 7s exhaust in cold climates is perfectly normal. Water is one of the bi-products of combustion. You may notice in the summertime that water drips from the exhaust tips of every car on the road, especially those stuck in stop-and-go traffic in cities.

As long as the smoke doesn't have a sickly-sweet smell to it (burning coolant) or is blue (burning oil) you're fine.
