Y-pipe question

Many companies offer a turbo Y-pipe and a non-turbo Y-pipe.

Will the turbo Y-pipe provide better flow because it's tubes are larger in diameter?

I bought a cheap Bosal brand Y-pipe. The areas where bends take place are thinner than the normal piping. Also, the part where the two pipes split off seem to restrict flow.

Are all Y-pipes the same, or should I get an expensinve racing beat pipe?

That's why you don't buy cheap ones. In fact I have no idea why you'd even buy one. A competent exhaust builder wouldn't need an off-the-shelf Y to build a dual system. You simply cut the three pipes accurately and cleanly and weld them together. That's how it's done over here anyway.

Yeah, all you need is 2 nice mandrel bends and it's not too hard to do it yourself (as long as you have proper welding/cutting skills and equipment of course).

With that said, it's pretty easy when comparing 2 units to tell which one is a higher quality piece. I don't think I even need to decribe how, it's like comparing the amount of rust on cars - it's pretty obvious.

Just make sure the diameter of piping is what you want, inlet and outlets. Also, the old adage generally applies here: you get what you pay for.

I live in the land of impatience with a budget of about $100.

This'll have to do for now.
