Sometimes the paint mark gets worn off. There should be two notches visible if the pully is clean. Looking straight at it, I believe the right one is leading.

There are two notches - they're probably 2mm diameter or so, on the flange closest to the engine.

The paint won't be there - don't even look for it. It's long gone.

Once you find the notches, you'll need to do something so that you can see them clearly with a timing light when the engine is turning. I've had some success in using whiteout to paint them.

As for leading/trailing, if one is set properly, the other should be set properly as well. I believe Aaron is right regarding the right one being leading, but it's really easy to test when you're doing it - if you set one properly for leading, put the pickup on the trailing coil, and it lines up with the other one, you're good. If it's way off, you lined up on the wrong one initially.

Also make sure that you set timing with the initial set coupler jumpered, and the idle RPM below 1000.
