that my friend is the S5's electronic boost controller or "Duty Solenoid" as the FSM calls it. It is reponsible for raising boost from 5.5psi to 8.6 when all vital signs are good.
If that's in the car with the 350, you won't need it. But if you have an S5 engine in there and want to boost 9psi, but don't have an MBC, you need it.
