WTF Mate, Wire
WTF Mate, Wire
I was installing a new rubber shift boot and a 12 guage wire was running from the engine bay, through the tranny tunnel to the interior of the car. I cut the wire to get the old boots off and to reinstall the new boot. When installing the new boot was fiddling the wire through the small hole I cut and the wire came loose from the bay and dropped down. F*ck!
I followed to where it was going and it went up into my steering column, where my eyes cannot see. So, asking the board here, what could it possibly to go to? Igniton switch?
Cannot start my car to tell because I have no alt right now but I just can't think of anything. My turbo timer still works, so it's not that..hmm Any suggestions?
Why couldn't they just go through the firewall damnit!
Thanks,
Mitch

It's not stock, so it could be anything. It does sound like an ignition wire for switching something. Where does the other end go?
Regardless it needs to be pulled out and passed through a proper grommit. And likely it's missing fuses, has poor crimps, etc. Hackjob electricians...
