Wtf Big Gapping Hole In My Tranny!!!
Ok i was working on the R-X to day and boy was it a bitch! this is the first time i have gotten to work on the car really because i was at work. (I work at a honda dealership) But i got under my car today to do an oil oil change, and gee was it fun trying to get the
stripped oil pan bolt out. Well anyway I took a look around and looked at my bell housing and tranny gave everything the once over to make sure it was in good condition. well then I looked at the bell houseing and noticed like a 3 in hole where i could see the pressure plate and cluctch and fly wheel and stuff. It looked like a cleam square hole like it should be there but it doesn't make any sense. Does any one know about this? i mean is this normal? and man that tranny is a lot smaller seeming than my N/A's. Help Please anybody?

Haven't we ALL heard this
Yeah, that is an inspection plate hole. You probally should put a cover back on there. Where to find one? Junk yard but that should be fun. Every 7 I have seen is slammed down on its rotors.
The mazda part number is N302-16-140. That is what the fische said for a 91 TII. Not sure if the NA is any different. I really could not find mention of an NA bellhousing.

I ask garkinkle, he said that is where you go in to unbolt the presure plate ,there should be two 6 mm bolt holes one on each side to attach the square sheet metal cover , make a cover to keep out the dirt and rocks.
