wtf?

ok i was driving my car, and usually the temp goes a little high till the clutch fan comes on. ok then all of a sudden the needle climbs all the way up and stays their. so i drive straight home. when i get their right next to the top house theirs some coolant sizzing their. right where the plastic and the aluminum meet. so i turn the car on again and the clutch fan is on of course and the needle goes down to normal, scared the hell out of me. i touched both top and bottom houses and their hot. the top one was stiff as hell like if it wanted to burst. i have a discount auto parts thermostat in their i was thinking that it might be stuck closed. so i have no clue what to do or what to check to know why it did that? any suggestions?

First Problem - Non Mazda thermostat. Pretty much every 2nd gen guru I know says to use a Mazda thermostat. None of the others seem to work right.

if the rad hoses and rad are hot then the thermostat is opening. (but maybe later then it should, still replace it with a mazda one) you shouldn't have any "sizziling" sounds like you have a leak. when it cools down make sure it's full.
