wrecked my baby need info on what to do next

got rammed into by a huge 4x4 pickup truck. look at the damages, but luckely i wasnt badly injured (hit my head got a cat scan nothing broken) but my car wasnt. i need advice on what to do? i dont have full coverage insurance so no money from insurance company. the car still drives and all performance parts are still intact. it was about 5 inches away from hitting the exhaust. but i dont know what would be easier

1.finding a shell then moving all the stuff over
2.getting the body fixed
3.or just selling it as is

Unfortunately it looks like from the pics that your frame has also been damaged... The car may drive ok, but you may get some serious tire wear issues/wobble problems if later it turns out to be a problem. You may be able to get it straight, but that can be really tricky and compromise safty as well... It just depends on how much it is worth to you...

If it were me if I could find a shell and move everything over I would go that route... There are going to only be a few people I would think that would give you anything close to what you would want for the car. (we're talking selling AS IS) because of the repairs needed it would look pretty hefty amount of money being spent on body work....

You would most likely get more money parting it out then you would selling it as a whole. If you get a good amount parting it out you could always pick up a Turbo II. Of course depending on how available and prices in your area...

Its definately a sad sight to see, im sorry to hear about the loss...

Wait... whose fault was the accident? If it was his fault, then his insurance will pay for it. If it was your fault, then, yea, without full coverage you're kind of screwed.

Thats very true. Definately look into that more if you are not at fault.

Edit: Nevermind, as you stated above....

if HE hit you THERE then isn't it his fault for innatentive driving? I would understand how you are 100% to blame if he had hit your front or T-BONED you but he hit your rear......wither way.....when you go to court for the TICKET make sure you claim NOLO CONTENDERE or NO contest. If you claim guilty the other guy's insurance company can sue you...part it out and buy another 7 or build another one out of your parts.

yeah you cant sell that for anything, cause to sell it you will have to transfer it to salvage then buy the car back from insurance and its a huge hassle, strip it down... taking everthing you can, and take it to a yard and get the money from scrap. sorry man its sad to see.

Swapping to the 1st gen does involve some changes, it's not a direct drop in.

Find a good S4 second gen (it's not hard to find RX7's that need motors, right) and swap over. It's the easiest surest bet.

Then, when you're done, get full coverage....

Or, if you really like the idea....

A little cardboard, visqueen & duct tape - you can drive it like it is!
