the bolt pattern is right, the width and offest wouldn't look right. They would be sucked in about an inch.

Agreed the offset may be problematic depending on tire width. I have some 16X8 +38 wheels that I used to have on my '90 GTU with a 225-50-16 tire with no issues but this rubbed on my '88 GTU which has the same springs as your TII, assuming you still have the stock springs. The wheels you asked about are only 7.5" wide, but are also 2mm closer to the springs, so you may get rubbing with a 225 tire up front. You could possibly get away with a 205 tire up front, but that kinda defeats the purpose of getting a wider wheel. No problems in back that I could see though.

However, since +40 is the stock offset and these wheels are actually 1/2" wider than stock, the outer face of the wheel will be 1/4" more "pushed out" of the wheel well, not "sucked in about an inch." Still, as the link posted by w0ppe indicated, a +30 would probably be a more ideal offset for a 7.5" wide wheel.

id suggest at minimum a 17x8.. with a lower offset of 30 and below.

Ever see a ford mustang or 350z with 17x7 honda size rims? it looks horrible because these cars are RWD, the usually tend to allow for bigger/wider wheel fitments.

Now the shop who sells these wheels will GLADLY sell them to you, since they DO fit.. alot of shops dont even know about offset and go by a book that tells them if wheels will fit this or that car.
