well mine has 178,000 miles
the car had a repaint job, that was all right but had some chipping..
the interior is really nice, but the seats were torn to he!! which i will be replacing with some other FC seats..
and everything was about stock

but i know for a FACT that trying to maintain a pure stock FC is like leaving a time bomb in your FC
so far my reliability mods:
took out smog pump
dual pully
eletric fan
block off plates
some new vaccum lines
new intake filter with MAS adaptor
so far my aftermarket and oem mods:
s5 tails, bumpers, side moldings
RE Amemiya powered aero mirrors
turbo back exhaust
new clutch

well you all decide did i already kill the value?

haha i completely understand that you like stuff original.. but if that meant that much to someone who wanted a 10AE from my car
all they would have to do is
switch out:
s5 tails
s5 front bumper
switch in:
10ae front bumper
10ae tails

and i think the rest of the s5 kit looks idenditcal to the s4
what do you think
hey atleast im keeping all the rotor/rear badging, and 10ae wheels

what ya think?

try
www.ebaymotors.com

and search for some 10AE
they go for a pretty penny to my viewing..
but yea everyone says i bought it to make it what i want it to be..

i love the 10AE
all i really wanted was the outside of the S5 lol
yea it doesn't make it a real 10AE

but the badging, paint job, interior, and wheels is pure 10AE

I'll try the other Mazda dealer in town and see if they know what they are talking about..........thx, ck

"I just ask that you keep it white, and keep the S4 tails."

I've been admiring a new Cadillac Escalade "truck's" pearl-essence (sp?) white/champagne (I'm half color blind). Would I be a bone-head to paint my 10AE something other than the original Crystal White?

hey well for sure i'am keeping and repaitning it UC crystal 10AE white..
and i love the look of the s4 tails.. but im falling in love with the s5 tails for some reason lol
but i might need to stick with the s4 tails cause one of my s5 tails is cracked..

chuckles: honestly i was thinking of painting it like escalade pearl white or a bmw white..
but i thought to my self i want to atleast keep the originality of the paint, and im gonna get some high quiality UC paint lol..
i was thinking adding some pearl into the UC paint what you all think?
well really i want is a
ultra high glossy UC white paint?
is that possible guys?
thanks

I think a pearl white would look awesome. Be sure to post pics if you do it. I also went through the S5 tails phase, but I decided that the S4 tails look better when the taillight surround is painted the same color as the car.

haha yea that what i was thinking of man.. haha..

but honestly im probably going to stick with UC monochromatic 10ae crystal white, and ask them to enhance the he!! out of the glossyness and if i could at some white pearl to it.. we will see hm..

can't wait till i get my motor back hehe

There was another thread about the UC paint code and what it meant. Monochromatic white, according to IceMark (I think), is the methodology of the paint scheme. Crystal White is the color. We were discussing why the white peels and flakes. Mark said it was because Mazda changed their primer from a light color to a dark one which was obviously inferior. He suggested taking the paint down to metal, reprimering, and then paint and clear coats. That is what I'm going to do. My 10AE was repainted once, and it is still peeling in places. I am going to mess with the color and pearling on something and see what it looks like. I'll post pixs of the experiment.

ahhhh i seee so hey
i know when i sand my whole car down i dont have to primer it cause it's the same color..
now thinking about it i might have to primer the whole car..
cause before i bought the car the car had a repaint job, and it still tends to peel off!
does it make a difference if i should primer the whole car white (light color) or grey (dark color)
i would prefer to primer the car white, cause atleast it still looks white lol..

Regardless of if anyone thinks it looks cool or crappy...

Of course why anyone would like the S5 lights is also beyond me but that is covered in countless other posts.
What? Someone else besides me that likes the s4 lights better?! Sweet!

When it comes to engine mods I am all for doing whatever you want. Just keep the body the same. I am working on all my performance goodies first then i will worry about getting the body back to it's original condition.

I just know what IceMark said about the inferiority of the primer on 10AEs. I'll look for the thread and post it.

as far as exterior wise, a simple switch of the front bumper and the tail lights would change it back to the S4 look..
but as for modifications..
it is very hard and unreliable keeping a stock rx-7 running..
all the unecessary restrictions placed with the engine..
i know if you modify any car it brings down value..

but this thread is made exactly for the exterior.. why would putting another stock body kit (that is interchangeble) on a older model be degrading its value
