This is without a doubt the best quality narrow band AF meter available. The Haltuner is designed with the normally aspirated vehicle in mind. These cars tune for a maximum of 12.7:1 AF ratio. Perfect for the standard O2 sensor. This system comes complete with a high resoultion attractive LED display. Also included is a 4-wire heated O2 sensor, mounting bung, fused wiring harness, operating manual, etc. Of note, this meter uses a reasonably priced O2 sensor which is a definite advantage. Buy one today and get to tuning. Shown with optional O2 sensor.

Price: $235.00

even without my emissions problem would this be a good buy and be beneficial to my car.

No, not in my opinion. You might be able to see readout of the 02 sensor, but ask yourself "How am I going to change the 02 reading?". It won't hurt to know what the 02 sensor reads but the bottom line is that there isn't much you can do about it except make sure the cars emissions are up to speed/spec. That can be done using the online fsm and following the instructions.

Most notably the working of the ACV thru the Relief and Switching solenoids. If the acv isn't allowing the air to go to the exaust ports, and is being dumped overboard by the relief valve inside the acv, the emissions are not going to work right.

You can do the same thing as the 02 meter using a digital meter from RadioShack and backprobing the ECU's input from the 02 sensor. The 02 should read in the very low range, like .1v or less at idle if the acv is working as it should. If it reads in the .6v or so range, then the acv ain't working right.

If your going to pay that much for a narrow band go ahead and save up another $100 or so and get a wideband. That way at least you knwo what you see is accurate.
