wont rev past 6500

i have an 88 turbo II, besides tps, what else would cause my car to not be able to rev past 6500? it just sounds like its sort of cutting out...... it hits full boost and pulls hard then once it hits around 6500 it doesnt pull anymore and wont redline...
any ideas besides tps? its not really a hesitation, its almost a cut out but the car is still trying to rev... hard to explain but hopefully someone will know what i mean! i'm at stock boost as well.

I and others have had this issue and it was the TPS, mine actually happened to be right at 6500RPM, too. Even if it seems to test ok, replace it anyway, you should be able to find a used one cheap.

There's a classified section on this forum, that's where I found mine. There are also other forums like nopistons and rotarycarclub that have classified sections. Mine only cost me I think $25.
