I just bought a 1988 Vert NA and one of the major problems i am having with it is that it wont rev past 4k when in gear. You can rev past it in neutral and if you barely get on the accelerator but if you floor it in gear it bogs down at exactly 4k each time a few rpms later it kicks back up then bogs down again... i cant figure it out would love some advice

 

search variable resistor pack. it may be faulty. sounds to me liek your secondary injectors aren't firing.

the variable resistor controls your injectors.

are you saying the resistor is unplugged and your car will start up and run?

My understanding is it aids both primary and secondary injectors I wouldn't have thought the car would run without that resistor pack, but then again i have never unplugged mine and tried to start the car..
