won more races? or lost more races?
i have a 89 gtu and since ive got it i havent lost yet. i always read on here that NAs are slow..but i cant even imagine how fast the TIIs are b/c my NA feels very fast to me. they are really that slow?
but back to the post...ive destroyed v6 stangs and camaros...my friends starion had no chance..i beat a heavily modded crx...and killed a probe gt. my car is just a plan old stock gtu that needs a tune up....whats the deal?

Well, I agree that the NA is slow, but as a proud owner of a NA I can tell you that it's still faster than 90% of the **** cars that people on the road think are "fast'.
Like for example, most people buying new Mustangs are getting V6's because they are cheap bastards. They think it's fast, they are sadly mistaken.
I don't know WHAT goes through most honda owners' heads thinking they are fast though...
NA Powah!

5.0's...it depends on a lot. For the most part, a good 5.0 car with a good driver will kick your NA *** in a straight line, you will rape him if there are turns. However a few factors can make you win:
First, they have automatic transmissions. If you are a good driver, and they are in an auto and just floor it, you have a distinct advantage.
Second, lousy drivers. They may have a stick but not know how to launch, shift, etc. I beat most 5.0s out here because they have no idea how to drive.
Lastly would be weight, a lot of newer V8 cars are HEAVY. Your car it not.

I've won more than lost, Ive beat 5.0 rustangs old school. 6cyl camaros, eclipse non turbo of course, eagle talon 91 turbo (bad driver), nissan 280, riced out sentras, riced out cavaliers, and some more, I've lost against a trans am, 5.0 2001 mustang, 8 cyl camaro and i can't remember what other beat me.

MDD0101 how old are you? In my mind right now you have to be 16 or 17. Most people in this age group thing anything is fast. An N/a is no fast but it is a quick car. The better N/a guys around here are doing 14's which is what a stock FD will do. So that means they are not horribly slow but that level of performance is basically the cap for a street driven N/a and a lot of other cars do 14's easily so don'y get cocky. I'd also suggest you do your performance driving on a legal track and not on the road. You can get hurt or hurt other people so just pay the 5-10 bucks at the drag strip and be in a safer environment.

Speed is relative. For someone that's been walking their entire life I'm sure riding a train would blow their mind. The same concept applies here.
The 302 was dropped from the mustang after 95, they use a SOHC 4.6L engine in the GT, and a DOHC 4.6L in the cobra and mach I's.

Hey, hold on, lets not hate on the youth, Im only 17 and I think my TII is slow as ****. Ofcourse Ive been in ALOT of fast cars since I was 9. I live across the street from a charged cobra with juice running 9.87 seconds. My uncle drives a "fairlady" z32 that tyops out at pretty close to 200mph. Cars are not toys, but If you know how to play with them they sure as hell can be fun. Me? I wouldn't trade my TII for anything in the world, and little by little, Ill climb up the mod ladder and be at the 400-500rwhp range. Not bad for a street/track car but I can assure you that with my measly 240rwhp right now I can beat the **** out of the stang and the Z in autocross. The best of both worlds? Someday. For now, Im happy where I sit.

It seems like we have a new "how fast are n/a's" or "my n/a is faster than people think" or "what can i beat with my n/a" thread every single week
The truth of the matter is that a stock n/a isn't fast, it isn't slow, but it isn't fast either. A stock n/a will run a 16.5 in the 1/4mile (give or take a little depending on the driver, launch, conditions, and whether or not you need a tune-up). So what will you beat? Anything slower than a 16.5, and you'll lose to anything faster, once again give or take a little depending on launch, conditions, bla bla bla...

I'm not trying to hate or anything but this guy/kid might be out there putting **** on the line that shouldn't be put on the line. When your street racing your putting people's lives at risk which have nothing to do with racing or sports cars. If you slide and hit a minivan you could kill some innocent family because you wanted to have fun on the road. Atleast racing at a track you have safety and everyone knows whats going on so if something happens you already know they should be prepared for an accident because they can and do happen. I'd say try to minimize the bad things we all do on the street. I am not a saint either I like to drive fast and race but it always pops into my head that something could go wrong. Keep that in mind guys. Even in a slow car you can hurt yourself.

I'm 17 and I have a 89 TII, its stock, and I think its slow as hell. Everyone my age that rides in the car will comments on how fast it is, and I can easily beat most of the local hondas/dsms/240sxs/etc...
I guess I just have high expectations, but it will be fun by the end of the summer when I have 100 extra hp at the wheels =), still its not a drag racer, rx7s are most at home autoxing/road racing.
I used to have an NA, there deffenatly not fast. Great cars, good in the corners, but not fast. If you think your NA is fast, you probaly just haven't been exposed to alot of different cars.
