Wiring my Fuel Cut Switch- switch question.

I swear my brain must have already left the for beach today!

I can not remember how to wire this switch for the life of me.

I know its the yellow plug, middle black/white wire-
My switch is an illimunated toggle-
It says:
Power- load- ground on it.

How do I connect my wires so that its illuminated- yet wont interfere with the purpouse of the switch?
My understading has always been that these types of switches feed of the 12 power of the line, and ground out using the noted line.

My friend has the same illuminated form of switch- and it works great.

Is there power in thie black/white line? So it would just be- power (one end of the wire)- load (other end)- and then ground (to a chassis ground).

Or am I compleltly wrong .

Thanks!

I believe it would be wired with the switch controlling connection between "load" and "ground" with the 12v between "power" and "ground" serving to drive the light.

Me? I'd just sit down for 30 seconds with a voltmeter in resistance mode, find the resistance between points at various switch positions, and go (hint: One set of poles should toggle between 0 & inf).

The easiest way is to not bother with an illuminated switch. Why would you need one anyway? Surely you can remember up = off, down = on (or vice versa)?
