Wiring harnesses the same or different?

Wiring harnesses the same or different?

I have both a 87 and a 88 10th AE t2 i am having a spark issue i was told its possible the ecu isnt getting power..... can i swap out the wiring harness to try to get power? and are they the same and will this fix the problem?

If it's a late '87 harness, it will be the same. Otherwise, you'll have it setup for low impedance injectors and a resistor pack, while your 10AE engine will have high impedance injectors. You would need to bypass the resistor pack by jumping the 5 wires together on the plug.

But before you do anything drastic like changing a harness, test the ECU for power with a multimeter. The FSM lists voltages at each pin.

okay and i leave the ECU plugged in and check them by probing into the connector? and if its not getting power what do i do to fix that?
