which wire is for the parking lights/headlights?

I am hooking up my boost guage but i need to find the wire that gives power to the headlights/run lights. i think it is red with a black stripe and silver dots, can anyone verify? i don't have a voltmeter so unfortunately i cant be probing around everywhere.

I have the wiring diagram but don't have much experience in reading them from the haynes manual

It is a s5 TII. I have the cluster surround off so that i can tap right into the correct wire once i know which it is.

thanks all

well, i didn't find the one i was looking for however i was able to splice into the bright headlamps. that means they will always be on as long as the lights are on. Not too much of a big deal because i have the motors disconnected anyways causing them to remain down and dimmer so this may help alot. i actually think that the high and low beams are on at the same time.

headlights are not wired with the parking lights at all. Two different circuits and two different types of power. Parking lights are positive trigger, while the headlights are a negitive trigger from the switch.

If you need positive light trigger like a dimmable dash light souce, you need to use the Red/Green. If you need a non dimming parking light wire, then you need the Red/Black. These are found at the light switch harness.
