Wiper Switch

I read the FAQ and i now understand that my wiper switch has a bad relay (only works in low), but the FAQ doesn't provide instructions to replace the relay. Anyone have a write-up? Part #'s? Pics?

I'm a bit worried about doing this because i don't want to ruin my switch because i have a convertible and from what i've heard this switch is pretty hard to get and expensive because it includes the convertible option.

Not really, check with Icemark, one of the moderators for this forum. He rebuilds the switches, and othe elec. controls and sales them. You might want to PM him with information about your vehicle and he can sale you the correct switch or if you send him yours he will rebuild it for you and guarantee it.

To replace the switch, you have to remove the steering wheel, then the instrument surround. Remove the switch *****, and disconnect the switch from the surround. Reverse procedure to put it back together. Just be careful not to attach the steering wheel at an angle to what it was (ideally dead ahead). As for the switch itself, you have to either resolder the connections, or replace the switch. Make sure to test the harness as well, because thatg may have gone bad as well, or it may have been what caused the problem in the first place.

I have rebuilt 88-89 convertible switches in stock, and should have a limited number of 90-91 instock soon.

Or I can rebuild your's for you for $40 + shipping. This includes new relay for the front wiper, new bulbs, burnt parts replaced, old solder removed and new solder flowed in (prevents cold solder joints) cleaned, checked and tested. And I provide a 6 month warranty.

If you had a Turbo or a GXL with the rear wiper it would only jump up to $60 + shipping.

If you want to try and do it yourself and have decent board soldering skills, I also have the relays instock, with no minimum order amount (unlike most people selling those relays).
