Wiper Probs. Relay didn't help
I removed the wiper switch and installed a new relay.
It didn't solve the problem. The time it takes to unsoilder all 20 board connections is so long I cut out a hole in the back instead. The old relay came right.
New one went in with no problems.
Back at the dash the wipers are still doing the same thing. Also I noticed the wipers don't return to home position. I think they did that before I messed with switch.
Please help my dash is in pieces untill I can get this fixed.

As posted before:
There are three types of failures with the wipers, only one of them is fixed by replacing the relay.
#1 If the wipers work only in the on position, but not in the intermittent or high positions you can replace the relay and have it fixed,
#2 if the wiper doesn't stop correctly no matter what the position of the switch except off (and off turns the wiper off where ever it is rather than returning it to the off position, then it is one of two things: bad transistor in the switch (just replace the switch I haven't tracked down which one causes the problem yet) or the wiper motor itself,
#3 the wiper goes at the same speed no matter what position is selected. This again is caused by a contact failure in the switch or a bad transistor in the switch.
The wiper relay replacement only works in the #1 case,
BTW: I rebuild the wiper switchs with new relays for $40+ shipping for the singles (front only) and $60 for the doubles (front and rear) with new 8Amp relays and resoldered contacts. I can not rebuild them though if the problem is #2 or #3 at this time (give me another month to figure it out- maybe then).

My wipers only work on low speed and won't park. As you noted, the relay replacement had no effect. I can't replace the wiper switch because RHD convertible wiper switches are as rare as rocking horse droppings, and judging by the prices wreckers charge for coupe ones, I doubt I could justify the money even if I found one.
