Wiper Cluster Question

ok so i found a cluster for the hazard and wiper. all i really wanted was the wiper as mine only work on 1 speed.

yes i have tried to fix it with the new relay, but my best bet would probably be buying a new unit from the dealership or blackdragon, unfortunately i do not have the 400+ for the cluster. so i pulled one from a base model (1988 i think) fc at a junkyard today.

like i said, only has the hazard, and wiper switch functions. the middle one does nothing.

i have also done a search but i don't think anyone has ever really done this.

my question is:
if i use this base model cluster switch in place of mine (that has the hazard, convertible top, and wiper switch), would it actually allow the wipers and hazards to work while loosing the functionality of the convertible top (s4 vert) ?

i am ok with not being able to put it up and down because it is starting to tear in the places where it folds, so to stop that i dont want to keep putting it up and down.
