winter project suggestions.... on a budget.

im actually wondering what you guys think i should do to my car while it is parked for the winter. after i get suggestions i will search and find out info on how to do it. the only things i have done are Banzai Racing mild streetport rebuild, poly motor and tranny mounts, removed emissions, HKS intake, simplified vac lines, and i think thats it. im buying an s4 gxl for my winter beater and saving money for my 5spd conversion. so i dont want to spend to much money in doing all of this stuff this winter, but i cant get away from my car. it keeps my mind off of my ex gf. so any suggestions would be great.

Brian

PS. i have an 89 vert.

awesome suggestions, but the top is in excellent condition. i will probably get the e bay detailed when i do the manual swap. i used to be a detailer so it is usually cleaned regularly. suspension is too expensive, unless you have ideas to do it cheaper. and the body work is a good idea i will probably do that as one of them.

keep them coming guys.

How about tending to the electrical system? Clean and replace all grounds, inspect connectors and pack with dielectric grease, check harness for wear, etc. etc.

Steam clean interior?

Wash out that engine bay?

All that maintenance that you've been skipping?

Things like the TB mod on an NA are just "make work" projects. They have no effect.

Try the Racing Beat engine torque brace. You'll like it once you get the 5spd in it, and it's cheap! (less than $100)

an SAFC costs anywhere from $125 to $250; I wouldn't spend more than $300 for it, since megasquirt costs about $300 or thereabouts.

There's an OK grounding write up in the Archives. But in general, the manuals (Haynes and Factory Service) will tell you what you need to know. The ground locations and such are shown in the Factory Service manual.
