OK. If your going to bash every single notion that something other than stock is useless then please don't post!

Aesthetics are part of making a choice in almost any situation.

I bet 95% of the people here will never attain/maintain the speed needed for a wing/spoiler.

I think I heard the stock GTU/TII wing actually adds drag and isn't really functional unless going over like 100mph.

Then I guess everyone with a GTU/TII(other than some 87's) are rice. The Sport/early S4 small spoiler is the only truely good one then.

Also wind tunnel testing isn't cheap.

Bleh.
I haven't seen the RE one other than some monster one.
Haven't seen the KSP one but the RMagic looked nice.

The point is that if you already have a stock wing there isn't a need to buy a jumbo jet aftermarket peice. If this guy has a TII it likely has the TII/GTU wing. Therefore he doesn't need to waste cash on something that won't do him better.

You know what? You are one of the reasons that this Forum is getting the nickname "the Evil forum", and old people that used to hang out here (MikeL, Vosko, etc..) have gone somewhere else.

The thread poster wanted to know WHICH one I personally liked, not the downforce, etc, of the wing. NO FC driven here with a wing even USES any of those wings for other then asthetic value.

Everyone here knows what your going to say. "its Rice". Thats your contribution to EVERY thread that comes up concerning body mods. You obviously have nothing constructive to add so you lump everything in the RICE category. I cant figure out why you do this, but my guess is, its envy because you still live with mommy and daddy and cant afford those cool toys.

Why dont you just stay out of these threads if you have nothing of real value to add?

*edit* Sorry Aaron..

Pics would be nice. I voted wingless, but I also like the S5 and sport spoiler.

Lets see, 1300 dollar exhaust for my N/a 800+ dollar intake setup and 1500 dollars worth of LTX 12 for my TII and I can't afford the wings? I choose not to buy worthless peices of junk like the wings and the body kits. I don't need my car to look cool to have fun with it. If you do then you have problems. I give people a hard time for trying to buy fad items like wings and body kits to keep the ricer image away from the car I love. Guess which car that is? The Rx-7 If you can't understand that then your obviously out of touch with defending the things you love. I work hard on my cars and friends FC's just ask James(wankel7) me and him worked together for a week straight to get his car on the road. I didn't ask him for money I didn't give him a bill. I just did it because I love FC's but I hate rice. I hate that image and like my sig says. If your going to judge you have to be pure. I might not have all the "neato" toys like a huge turbo and gigantic FMIC or a 100k dollar job to buy everything but **** I work hard at what I do. Also living with my mother has nothing to do with my monitary status college students have to make sacrifices its one of the things I have to do to get ahead in life you try paying the bills for a house or rent for an apartment at minimum wage in a 20 hour a week job let me tell you it isn't going to happen buddy. I'm doing my best to get there so I can have fun. Not so I can look cool. One last thing I am going to say is that I have seen a lot of people talk about honda's and other typical ricer cars and how tacky it looks when people put body kits on them but then they go out and buy a kit for their car what a double standard you all have. It still looks tacky not matter what car it is very few body kits even look presentable.

So everyone here that has spent lots of time making thier car look good has problems?

I work hard on my cars and friends FC's just ask James(wankel7) me and him worked together for a week straight to get his car on the road.
whats the point here? I have done in excess of 6 motor swaps for people free of charge. So what?

I might not have all the "neato" toys like a huge turbo and gigantic FMIC or a 100k dollar job to buy everything but **** I work hard at what I do.
And alot of those guys that work on thier cars bodies work hard to earn what they have. But your real quick to disrespect them.

I am not gonna let up Santiago. You are done disrespecting people...

Jesus Christ!! Calm down guys...This is one of the reasons I do not post a lot even though I watch daily these RX7 forums since 96 probably. My car is not rice and I do not think 1987RX7guy you love RX7s more than me. When I was a in the US as student in Tucson AZ I had one of the fastest TIIs in Tucson. It was a yellow TII. I also work on my RX7s and on my friends cars. Maybe J-Rat knows me since I see he lives in Tucson. I parted it out when I left and I sold a lot of stuff to a lot of forum members like Dale Clark(F-con with 2 chips) etc etc. As I told you I just ask a question about the wings to help me decide. Yes I have the factory wing but is broken and not fixable. I also have the S4 sport wing and the Maztech(erc) wing. The reason I am asking about those wings is because I can get a good deal on them since I have stuff from R-magic, Run Racing, Feed on my car. Lets all get alone and do not flame each other. All these years I am a member in the different forums, and when I was a member at the teamFC3S mailing list before it was closed in 98 I used to see a lot of things that I did not like but I was not flaming people. Different people have different tastes...
Thanks

I am not flaming... I am merely pointing out the facts. there are literally THOUSANDS of threads in this forum with people asking personal opinions of what we think looks better. Every single one has 1987RX7GUY talking about its "rice". Its getting a bit old.

We all understand his position. He doesnt like body kits, wings, spoilers, etc.. Truth be told, I dont plan on doing it to my car either. But when a thread comes up, I try to be helpful. Not be an elitist and dismiss everyting as "rice".

I sincerely apoligize for muddying up your thread.

And FWIW, that RE wing looks REALLY good. As posted earlier.

J-rat you are not muddying up my thread. At the end I might not put a wing after all who knows... I have one month to decide. I am wingless for more than a year and since its getting a little bit old for me I thought I should try a change. That is way I posted to get your opinions and I am opened to all of them.

Ok here is what I think without any rice commments. Stock wings are functional and are nice looking. I'd stay stay stock or nothing at all.

That yellow cars wing is on ebay I think. I swear I saw some one selling that style one because they got it with a Jspec front clip.

Maybe a nice price will sway you towards it. I thin I searched for FC3S when I found it.

Aftermarket wings have a "function" just like stock wings. A bigger wing will add more downforce and drag. I'm confused on to why you say that "Big wings are only function over 100mph" and you dont want one because it will slow you down. The added downforce will be just as noticable as the added drag.

Ok first of all let me explain the mph figure. There really isn't a set mph that wings give you the most down force. But the fact is that to provide anything significant and usefull you are going to have to be going pretty damn fast. Second there aren't any stability or traction problems with FC's that I have encountered. Maybe all the ones in texas are really stable? but those are the two main reasons you USE a wing for. Stability and Traction Doing 55mph down the freeway you aren't sliding around nor is the car bounding around because its unstable. If your car see's regular track use like a dedicated race car you could actually use a wing if you have none because your doing high speed cornering and plain old high speed driving all if not most of the time your racing. Therefore at 55 or 70 mph your likely not getting ANY usefull or needed gain from downforce and getting that extra drag to boot! Thats why I don't need one. It isn't needed for the kind of driving my car see's. Lastly I have yet to see any wind tunel tests of ANY wings for the FC although they have an angle of attack and are positioned properly most out there aren't quoted to provide down force or high speed stability. If they do have this in their adds please let me know because I have yet to see it.
