windows will not go down.

Just baught 88 Vert and got it rolling. The windows won't roll down. Tested the motor with a battery because the switch wont work and got alot of grinding, but it works. Was wondering if there is any other way to fix this problem other than spending $300+ to replace the window regulator. Is there a way to rebuild it?

Please help

Shawn

Hi.

So if your window-motors are working than definitifely the window switch in the door is bad. The metallic contacts oxidate over time because of the high power flow the motor needs. Just remove the door panel, get the switch out, open it and clean the contacts.
That should be it
