Will S5 altenator work in a S4?

I was wondering if a S5 altenator will work in my S4? i know the harness plug are different, but is there anyway to rig up the wiring? if so which wire goes where? any write ups?

he was asking about S5 alt in a S4, not FD in a FC. as for me, I'm not sure, but I don't see why it wouldn't fit since the engine dimensions did not change from s4 to s5.

Real simple. The only Issue Is the one you already addressed- the harness plug. The white (which Is probably yellow now) and the Black are simply cut and solder. Fini!

OOps....Missed that.

An S5 alternator will fit in an S4, although the rear plugs are different. The only advantage is that you will get 10 extra amps. Where is the FD alternator gives you 40 extra amps.

thanks for the help guys..



since i dont have the original plug off the S5 i dunno which color corresponds to which.

the colors i have on my harness are black/white and Yellow/black . if im looking at the altenator(S5) which wire goes where?
