Will an S5 9k Tach fit into sn S4 cluster?

I noticed that the 1990 cluster has the 9k Tachometer.I was wondering if it is feaseable to put this 9k tach into my S4 cluster. It is just the tach I want to put in it.Everything else is to remain the same, gauge wise.
The Clusters in question are both N/A.Thanks Guys, any info or a "How To" is greatly appreciated.

IIRC, the answer is no. The S5 tach is physically smaller. Regardless, it wouldn't match.

If the only reason you want to keep the rest of your S4 gauges is the coolant temp. gauge, quit being a git and swap the S5 cluster in and get a real temperature gauge.

Besides, an S5 temp gauge + S4 temp sender = SLIGHTLY (and only just) more accurate temp reading.

I think you could get away with it. The tach signal comes from the same source ( the trailing coil) on both S4s and S5s, so it should just be a matter of how the gauge is calibrated. The wiring diagrams are the same for the tach in both FSMs.

EDIT: if the physical size is different, then that presents a different problem.

Well If I recall, the clusters are slightly physically different. That is why you have to get an S5 Surround if you go to an S5 cluster..One is rounded a little more.(don't ask me which,my Memory isn't that good!).
I thought "Oh what the hell".If I don't have to deal with any Wiring,Then it would be Ok,just to have that Extra 1k showing in the cluster.sort of Stock Bling..haha!
I got all aftermarket warning Devices/Gauges in my car anyways,so the coolant, oil, etc is already Taken care of ACES..( I still have the Stock gauges hooked up on my Cluster, just in case.)
Thanks Lads,I am gonna see exactly what this entails next week, when I grab the S5 Parts car.It should be fun taking a whole car apart in ONE day,and Sending the Rest of it to the Recycler!

Just re-pin the harness (It's EASY) and swap the clusters. Problem solved.

I will look into repinning it also ACES.I would really like to not have to Bother with anything electrical, such as Repinning it,That is why I wanted to just swap the Tachs out,as they should be a Commonly wired Piece..as Rocket Said they use the same reference point(traling coil) so they should hook up into the Cluster the same.
I have a Spare s4 cluster anyways,so I will be able to see What is What when I start Disassembling the S5 Parts car anyways.
So I'll be able the differences without taking the Cluster out of my S4 Working car..I'll see what I am up against when I have both parts in hand. Thanks again.STYX,
