Will a 87 RX7 Radiator Work in an 86' They both R Auto?

I just got a radiator from pick n pull i know it;s not good but a new one is 7 days out and i have work on monday so until then, but i was wondering if a 87 radiator would fit both r automatic tranny and look identical, another question would a bad motor cause your radiator to crack thanks !

These radiators crack because of old age. The plastic end tanks dry rot over the years and eventually crack. Automatic RX-7s have a slightly different radiator due to the automatic transmission lines that run into the radiator for cooling. Since they dont have a dedicated tranny cooler, the lines go into the radiator to help cool the tranny fluid. Using a manual tranny radiator on an automatic wont work unless you have a tranny cooler. Using an automatic radiator on a manual car will work.
