Question Will an 85 GSL-SE RB Header fit on my 87 N/A?

I am going to buy a header that has been designed for the GSL-SE but am wondering if you know whether it would fit on my car. I am assuming it would seeing that both engines are a 13B

Thanks

Is it collected or a Road Race header?

Yes, and you will probably want to make a heat shield to protect the wiring and the 6-port stuff. Don't ask me how I learned this.

Do lots of you have heat shields for your headers?

It is a collected header

I dont see any readon why it wouldnt work. As for the head shields, I dont have the 6 ports any more, but I havent had any problems with the wiring, and I dont have a heat shield over my headers.

It won't work probobly because the 1st gen frame is shorter, thus making the header shorter and not allowing to bolt up to my car.

I believe I will have to make an extra pipe. Is the header gasket the same ones from the dealer tha RB sells?

The frame IS shorter, but the header is not necessarily. More likely, the midpipes/cats are shorter on the FB. If you want a definitive answer, email Racing Beat. Im sure they would know, considering they make the headers and all. And if I remember correctly, the dual outlet(road-race) header thel sell is listed under 84-91 13B's. The 84 and 85(FB) GSL-SE's that had the 13B use the same headers as the FC's.
